McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden

Just for fun...

Follow this link to play a fun game! You just might find out which (of the two major) presidential candidates you most agree with, based on several key issues...then comment on what you think of the outcome. Which issues were very important to you? Which ones were not?

As I assumed, I mostly agreed with McCain, because financially, I am conservative. The issues that are mean the most to me, are health care and taxes. They shouldn't take money away from those who have worked hard for it to simply hand it to those who haven't. Stealing from the more fortunate, is still stealing.

well, i was surprised by my outcome.

as many will probably be shocked to find out.

i more support obama and his issues.

i used to agree with bridgette in saying that taxes and health care and social security are important issues that need to be resolved by aiding those who are independent and financially savvy enough to maintain wealth. but as i become more and more environmentally concerned as well as voting to keep abortion legal as a womans choice, i became more and more on the side with obama. and while i do not think this nation is ready for such a drastic change in policy, i do believe that obama may have the right views for the issues that matter to me.

On the war and on humans rights i am on the democratic side, and on economics i am on the republican side. So no good match.

I'm probably going to make mistakes in what I say, but this is for fun, so I'm not too worried about using tact in this post.
As far as my concerns with the elections, I'm the undecided. I don't think that the healthcare is a good idea because the standard of care will go down drastically. Why do you think that there are people who come to America from other countries to have operations? Yeah it's expensive as heck, but you get what you pay for and more. There was a man who had an oral problem and the solution suggested to him (the only one) was to pull out all of this teeth. He came to America and paid for the surgery to fix his problems, and guess what? He got to keep his teeth.
Abortion. I'm against HIGHLY against it. There used to be a day when the life of the mother was endangered and got an abortion. She was sad about it because she wanted to have that child and had to kill it. Now it's being used as birth control. Once upon a time their was a girl who got pregnant. She didn't want to take care of the baby and got an abortion. The end. To make it illegal I think may be too extreme because there are those women who have children and may have their life endangered by a child still in the womb, and get an abortion so she can take care of the kids she has, and not leave the father with the kids. (<- big run on sentence! Take that English teachers!)
Now taxation. For the big companies that gain too much profit, yes, for those that can hardly get by already, no. To tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't vote this year even if I was able to. I'd probably have voted for Hillary if she hadn't lost earlier. Anyone notice that women are still being elected into fewer positions than men? Maybe it's just me. Anyway, I'm undecided...still. -.-

Well my out come was Barack Obama But it was very close. I believe alot of the things that both presidents agree and disagree with.

Iraq war is somthing that the americans started and they should be the one to end it.

We obviously don't want to spend to much tax on gas but when tax really need to be raised then it should.

I am very strong in Health Care. In america its so pitaful and pathetic to see so many people without free medical insurance. america is a well developed country and when a country is well developed it needs free medical insurance. Its a joke to the world when asmerica dosent have free medical insurance. Even the small New Zealand has free medical insurance another thing that america can be mocked about.

Abortion should be turned over and be illegal because its murder as well. I dont get it its a illegal to murder some one yet its legal to murder a new baby. That is kinda stupid? if Abort then why have a baby in the first place?

Same sex marrige hmmm i just dont think a guy and a guy should be married it just wrong but then again a girl and a girl just sounds sexy lmaoooooo :D. (from my view)

Well people that are illegal in america should be legal citizens I'm not to sure on this one well yes and no. If they hard worker and intelligent then yes I guess but if they just a bum then no.

Chen Edmund Harmie said...

At the end of the day you would want a president that knows what he is doing no just that but thinks what america wants. I at the moment live in america and I dont not liked to be mocked to be In a pitaful and pathetic country. So I would like to see improvements. So wether its Obama or Mc cain, by all means make us happy.

Chen Edmund Harmie said...

I also like to say bridgette has a good point that when taxes are raised we have to pay more money. Its not really called stealing even if out tax money goes to the less unfortunate is'nt it nice somtimes you can think a person that is in need of a operation or somthing and neends medical insurance out tax money can cover for that sometimes you can think of it as oh I just saved one life. So I am more than happy to pay a little extra on tax if america can have free medical insurance and save more lives :D

According to this game, I am leaning more towards Obama's policies. Two issues that I am really concerned about are the war in Iraq and global warming.
I truly believe that we should start pulling our troops out of Iraq in a timely manner. As far global warming, both candidates support my favor in a cap-and-trade program.

jcrolli said...

well k first she may not read this but she should know i kinda giggled when bridgette said she was conservative.

anyways i dont think i was all that shocked with the outcome cause my issue is i kinda agree with both you just got to ask me which topic you want my opinion on. i was more suprised with my level of importance on some topics rather than others. It was rather interesting to me to see the differences in how i really feel about the issues.

west this was a really cool idea cause ive been looking for a test like this and i havent found any that i truely like so thanks.

if i coulda had it any other way id have Ron Paul for president.

But no. If I had to CHOOSE its gotta be obama i guess. I still strongly dislike the 2 candidates, but again if I HAD to.

I'm with Obama all the way on this one. I never really did like McCain since he visited Iraq and said that it reminded him of his home town (even though he was guarded by like a whole battalion of marines complete with humvees and a helicopter).

But ever since he chose Sarah Palin for his running mate, the thought of him being elected is kinda scary. If he's going to make a decision to run with the most unexperienced vp candidate in America's history, then just think of what he's going to do if he's president.

And much like Adam, I'm extremely concerned about the environment and drilling offshore and in the Alaska wildlife refuge has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Then again, what do you expect from a ticket that contains someone who doesn't believe that global warming is caused by humans?

N. Weiser said...

How could McCain choose someone who thinks that "good foreign relation experience" is a simple fact that she's next to Russia up there in Alaska? Anyway, Obama is the match for me.

Bridgette, Taxes aren't stealing. Sure, the government doesn't always do what you'd like them to with your money, but there have to be taxes, and what kind of nation would we be if we didn't support our impoverished? Besides, those people who "haven't worked hard" for their money are still working rather hard, but to survive. Those who have worked hard should realize that they didn't do it all on their own, and what's so bad about helping out others anyways?

OBAMA ALL THE WAY!

There was only one issue, minus the mutual sides taken with global warming etc., that I agreed with McCain on and that was alleviating gas prices. Who doesn't want cheap gas?

I think McCain only takes that side because he knows it is the only chance he has at getting any votes from anyone that supports human rights!

Brigette.. McCain.. Really?
:P

Much love to Clark AP GOVERNMENT!

Wow. I was surprised with my outcome. Actually no…never mind. By my beliefs I knew I was getting Obama anyways. They are both crapy candidates because either way we are going to war again but Obama is the best candidate for me because I think that the war in Iraq is a waste of time and if we continue there we are just wasting our tax dollars. Its all BS to me because its all just deficit spending.

well, those of you who are friends with me or have even heard me speak on the subject of politics already know that i am a liberal. many of the issues that are important to me, which is just about all of them because i do feel strongly about each one, are supported by the democrats.
there's really nothing else to it.

to aleena goodson,
hi, im kirsten. i dont believe that you and i know eachother but i was taking the liberty of reading the comments and yours seemed to pop out at me.
what caught my eye was that you said you were HIGHLY against abortion. you said that you see it as "the new form of birth control" because teenagers are being hormonal and having sex like rabbits and then not wanting to deal with the consequences, so they get an abortion.
but what about the women who are raped and a child is then conceived? do you think an abortion would not be appropriate then? what if you were the one raped..would you really want to have a living constant reminder of the pain and suffering enflicted on you? (i dont mean any offense by this im just trying to prove my point)
yeah, you said that you dont think abortion should be completely illegal due to circumstances like this, but how is you being HIGHLY against it any different?

i dont know, i just believe that abortion should be the womans choice, no matter the circumstances.
that is of course, as long as its within the first trimester.

Not surprising I am for McCain or the Republican side this doesn't shock me in the least because I believe we should keep some of our troops in Iraq, I believe in pro-life, and I don't believe in universal health care coverage

On the other hand I do side with Obama on some issues such as gay marriage, social security and global warming

But I also believe that it doesn't matter who ultimately wins the presidential election this upcoming year. Yeah both Obama and McCain talk about making changes and solving problems. Yet I believe once they get elected they will run head first into reality and find that they can't make good on their promises, because the new president will be facing a fractured world with Iraq and Afghanistan consuming much of our resources therefore the new foreign-policy options will be limited.

Mean while at home the mortgage crisis, the slumping economy, and a ballooning national debt will severely crimp any new domestic initiatives. Sure the 44th president is bound to leave his mark in history but no matter how much charisma or straight talk emanates from the White House, the world will remain stubbornly disobedient.

Ryman said...

Actually it does make a difference on who wins because our country is going down the toilet because of good ol' Dubya and McCain is Dubya's chearleader. So if McCain becomes elected, we're basically going to see four more years of Bush and we're all going to be screwed. Especially if McCain's cancer returns and he gets hospitalized and Palin has to run this country. If you don't believe me just compare the country in its present state to how it was when Clinton was president.

And by the way, Palin just got her passport last year. LAME!!!

I went to my grandparents house today and somehow we got to talking about the economy and then to the president candidates interesting to note is that

Obama says he wants to tax the rich and cut taxes on the middle class people and yeah this sounds great doesn't it even to me it sounds great but then we got to talking and

one major problem/concern with this tax/economy plan is that many people fear that if the extremely rich are taxed like big businesses and corporations that they will move their headquarters off American soil and to other countries to avoid this tax some have even started doing this (UPS and others) and the major problem with this happening is that these huge business employ thousands of Americans and as my grandmother said "its a little hard to commute to another continent"

This takes away thousands of jobs to regular working class people and jobs right now are really hard to come by

Another interesting note is the gas tax cut from McCain that some of you mentioned yeah it would I guess in a sense cut gas prices by maybe 20cents which in reality isn't that much but this isn't a solution to anything its just a small drop in a HUGE bucket and it would hurt our funding for expanding and repairing highways and streets

Oil was another thing we talked about we discussed how there is a lot of oil here in the USA that we AREN'T drilling for(the east and west coast texas and another state can't remember) instead we are paying the middle east countries for oil and these countries don't like America and in turn use the money we gave them to buy bombs to bomb America its crazy and its not helping America's economy cause the wealth or money isn't staying in America

McCain is actually all for drilling for oil in America if he could he would go tomorrow and start drilling for oil in the USA (yes I know oil isn't environmentally friendly but we need oil until we can build more effective environmentally friendly cars) which both candidates are trying to go environmentally friendly

and finally now that this post has turned out ridiculous long

I just wanted to say a little something concerning Palin and Obama

Palin was mayor of a small town and had to make decisions and orders and then she became governor of Alaska and yes Alaska isn't that big as far as population but at least she held a position that required her to make choices and decided what to do and take action and make executive orders also since Alaska is a border state Palin has been to all the top security meetings concerning the security of the whole USA

on the opposite Obama hasn't had to make any real executive orders or decisions as a senator he passed ONE SMALL bill and before he was a senator he wrote books and before that he was a community organizer

Anyway this was just some points that were brought up in our conversation that I found interesting and I thought I would share I didn't mean to bash (not sure thats the word i wanted lol sorry its late) just one candidate because even though I support McCain he is definitely not perfect but I believe he is the lesser of two evils

Chelsea B. said...

I leaned more towards the Democrat side. Not totally surprising. Lol. However, the last couple were in between.

ughh.
There's always that something that catches you.

Ryman said...

Ha! And also while Palin was holding that executive position of that town she wanted to remove all Harry Potter, Stephen King, and Steinbeck books from their library. Who wants a nut like that in office? And also that executive experience doesn't mean anything. I mean, this is someone who doesn't even know what the Bush Doctrine is! Didn't you hear her stumble over that question during her ABC interview?? Palin may of been a mayor and everything but she is totally CLUELESS to what happens in the rest of the world and even this country. Obama may not have been a governor but he has been around the world and has been around the country and has good knowledge on most of the serious issues that exist. And I know most of you McCain supporters laugh at community organizers but being a community organizer of a massive city like Chicago where there are high crime rates, drug trafficking, gangs, and poverty give you much more experience than being governor of a state that has a population less than that of Las Vegas that most of the country ignores. Alaska's problems are absolutely NOTHING compared to the rest of this country's problems and foreign relations.

And as for the economy. It's going down the toilet right now and it is all Bush's fault. And who supported Bush during these last eight years? MCCAIN DID!!! So attacking Obama's economic plan is not a good decision when McCain's beliefs are the same beliefs that got us this situation to begin with. Even McCain seems to speaking out of both sides of his mouth. He's up there talking about how the economy is trash because the folks on Wall Street where being greedy and taking advantage of the taxpayers yet he wants to deregulate it so they can do whatever they want (which is, just in case your wondering, continue to take advantage of us). That does not make any sense. But then again, this an idea from a ticket that contains someone who graduated 894 out of 899 in their class and someone else who only has their BA in communications (and they flunked in about five colleges before that before they could finally pull their act together and accomplish that). LAME!

And as for off shore drilling: The republicans are obviously lying when they say that offshore drilling is a temporary fix. The money for all the equipment and labor is billions! The government would not spend billions of dollars for brand spanking new facilities that will only stay in operation for a few years. They would be there to stay. So off shore drilling will do nothing but continue American's addiction to oil. The money spent to drill would be more than enough to make more fuel efficient cars and use other sources of energy. And your right when you say it's bad for the environment and I'm pretty sure we'll all feel sorry for our decision to continue the use fossil fuels when our weather conditions start being incredibly extreme and New Orleans and New York are under water. But then again, McCain will DEFINITELY be dead by then so why should he care?

So McCain is definitely NOT the way to go in this election.

Ryman said...

Oh, and I forgot something. Continuing our presence in Iraq will only cause the Iraqi government to be a bunch of lazy bums and not get control over their country. We ned to send them the message that we're not going to be their baby-sitters until the end of time. And continuing our presence in Iraq does not keep our country safer as the republicans want you to believe. Just in case you forgot, Osama Bin Lauden planned 9/11 and he is currently in Afganistan and the surrounding area. So while we're up here horsing around in Iraq, Bin Lauden and his cronies are planning another attack on this country in a cozy cave with no gunshots or explosions around them and no one opposing them! So McCain's plan to stay in Iraq to make this country safe is completely senseless and deceiving to most people who don't fully understand the situation.

DID YALL JUST SEE THAT SARAH PALIN INTERVIEW ON CBS??!!?!? Omg we can't possibly have that person being vp. I mean you should've heard how she answered the questions. When questioned about her statement that she has foreign policy experience because she was close to Russia, she stuttered out a bunch of nonsense and eventually gave up and said: "I don't know." LMFAO!!! And when she asked why she never had a passport until last year, she said the reason why was because she wasn't a rich "prep" (I'm not joking, that's the EXACT word that she used) that had parents that bought her everything. WTF??? There are plenty of people who have passports that aren't rich and privileged. What kind of world does this person live in? And when she was describing her opinion about the Middle East, she basically said that there are some countries that are good guys and countries that are bad guys. LAME!!! And when she is asked to clarify her answer she starts stuttering something that totally contradicts what she said a few seconds earlier.

This interview depicts just how much of a political novice and bumbling idiot Sarah Palin really is. And McCain's campaign can't say that this interview was unfair and the interviewer was a sexist because the interviewer just happened to be Katie Couric. lol And how in the world could McCain even think that S.P. is qualified?? This shows just how much of a reckless gambler McCain really is. He's willing to put this whole country (and in some ways, the world) on the line just so he can win this election.
